Magento 2 Enable Single Store Mode

Knowing how to enable single store mode in Magento 2 would help you to simplify some of the process and options in the Magento 2 admin panel and that is what we are going to look at in todays article about the Single Store mode and how to activate the same.

Magento 2 provides various options in terms on enhancing the flexibility of the platform and setting up multi website, multi stores and store views are one of the key features to note. But sometimes we would feel that these features would be too much for our requirements. Options related to multi stores and multi websites would not be required for a simple ecommerce business wherein the requirement is pretty simple and straight forward. Such a business would only require a simple site to get orders from customers. Enabling options to enter prices for different stores and setting multiple values for each attributes for each store and store views would be a too much of options and would be confusing to admin users making them prone to make mistakes. So it would be better to make the platform simple and straight forward so that these kind of confusions for the admin users are avoided.

Single Store Mode in Magento 2 comes in handy to solve this issue and it is recommended to enable single store mode if your/client’s business operates only one store outlet. Below are the steps to enable single store mode in Magento 2:

  • Login to the Magento 2 Admin Panel
  • Navigate to Stores -> Settings -> Configuration.
